Course description
This is an entry level course on the valuation and reporting of mineral assets (exploration through to active mining assets).
The international standards and guidelines on resources and reserves reporting are presented, especially the ones concerning the public reports of mineral assets valuation.
The course also presents the methods accepted for the valuation of the several types of mineral properties (exploration, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies and operating mines).
The course is based on a heavy use of practical cases – analyzed and discussed by the students as a means to explore ways to solve real problems, question the methods’ underpinnings and consolidate the grasp of their theoretical and methodological basis.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own data and problems to discuss during the course.
